So I got curious about the Nikita Whitlock thread that was apparently deleted. Checked up on him, since he was endlessly hyped on TV in the FSU/WAKE game as "one of the best players in the country," and as a future NFL great at Nose/DT.
Turns out Whitlock, 5'10" and 245, was undrafted, and signed by Cincy to a free agent deal. They converted him from DT to FB, then released him.
One surprise is that Whitlock, a rookie, is 24 years old. Whitlock said he has played Nose/DT since Pee Wee football, and has never played any position on offense.
He was picked up by the Giants. Plays starting FB (no carries yet), some special teams, and takes a few snaps at DT.
