What is your favorite? I would like a pair for my trek to Hawaii. I have used Bose and really liked them. They were comfortable and worked well. Not sure I want to spend $350, but will if I have to.

My current NC traveling headphones are the Sony WH-1000XM2. Love them and very comfortable. I think the 1st version had durability issues with the headband, but I believe they addressed that with the M2's. At least, I've never experienced any issues. The M3's just released and the M2's are supposed to drop down to $199 on Black Friday. I had early access with Bestbuy and bought a pair for my sister.
Previously, I've owned a couple of the in ear NC headphones from Bose. Never had issues with those either. I think the current Bose QC35's still have great reviews.

Do you really want noise cancelling, or will noise blocking/isolating work. I’ve tried a few of the former, including high end Bose, and they all make my head hurt. I have used Shure noise isolating buds for years and LOVE them. Very good sound and I use triple flange soft sleeves and they are really good at creating a tight fit (which some people may not like) and blocking external sounds very well.
Well, that is a great question. I get a headache on a plane after a few hours and have only tried noise cancelling. I suppose noise reduction would work but never tried.
QVC has the older Bose QC25 on sale today for $125. Considering the QC35 is $350, I am thinking I don't really need wireless or silver, do I?
I just looked at the Best Buy Black Friday add and it looks like the Sony M2 is $199 starting tomorrow for us commoners. Decisions decisions.
Bose QC is the gold standard. I’ve tried Sony, HK, B&O, Beats...nothing beats my Bose.

Move him to the couch or stick a sock in his mouth. He will learn one way or another.

Will take a bit to get them customer fit as they do a mold of your ears, but I can sleep in them since they don't stick out, they reduce but don't fully cancel and they also play music if plugged in. Also have a blue tooth version to take calls but I didn't pay for that. I might next time. They also don't pull out too easy so I use for exercise and working in the yard. Won't be the amazing sound some want with a high end Bose set, but they will blow out your ear drum if you crank em up. And they cancel most sound. I use when I ride my motorcycle.
Mine have lasted 5? or so years, one speaker is dead but I know when I snagged the cord, so I've been considering replacing. Don't get them yellow and red swirled, doesn't look FSU at all.

They are $160 today. Just bought them. Figure I can always return if I don't like them. Thank you!
What made you pick the Sony 900's over the higher end Sony M2's? I see only a $30 difference now with the sales, usually $130 difference.
I know Bose set the standard, but with the Sony's being wireless and with the instant noise cancelling on/off and sound controls just by touching the ear might put me over the edge.

Not noise canceling but I had a pair of Sony Bluetooth wireless headphones that I loved. Sounded great but frame broke after about 9 months of use.
The Bose headphones I got my dad 10 years ago are still going strong and he doesn't take care of his stuff the way I do.
I'd go with Bose, personally, unless you don't care about quality and longevity.

Bose the way to go. Might I suggest a refurbished model if you don't want to pay too much. They come with the same warranty as new ones.
The reviews suggest not a huge difference between the two, and Costco has a killer return policy.

Honestly, I would rather have Bose. If I spend $198 on the Sony, then I should spend $270 and get the Bose. I prefer Bose because I know they will stand the test of time and I know they are comfy on my ears. I have a hard time with headphones because of my earrings, especially with my NASCAR headset. I do not want to remove my earrings and risk losing them.
I am so confused. I think I am going to buy the Bose Q35 Series I on Costco now and just return one of them.

I wore an ear mold for 30 years at work. Once you get used to it, you don't even know it's there.
For snoring volumes of less than 7.4 on the Richter scale, I would go to the Sawmill Unlimited web site: www.justwearhisassout@hotmail.com They have a vast selection of durable headphones for your shopping pleasure. I'm an off/on shore driller. And after drilling all day and through half the night, silence is golden. Just know that any minor snoring should not take away from the overall pleasure of the various experiences he/you may have. Freight trains are another issue altogether, however. I’d go with the Sony ones. All the reviews I saw rate the sound quality better. In fact the only area the Bose had a real advantage was wieght, and it wasn’t a huge difference. In my personal experience Sony products have sounded better than the equivalent Bose products as well.
Yep. I love em. Like you say, once you get used to em. I think it took me a month or so, then like you say, you don't even notice.
Amazon just threw a monkey wrench into my decision. I can now get the Bose Q35 II for only $4 more than the series I from Costco ($299). Its a no brainer for me now.
