My votes are checked off and I will add commentary and also guess who gets in when I have more time.

Agree with your checked choices - I would add Garciaparra, Piazza, Bagwell, Raines, Edgar Martinez and Mattingly. I assume you are leaving some of those names off because of PED's (McGwife, Bonds, etc.)- I would agree on those also.

Never understood leaving off the "supposed" PED guys.

1. They are the best of their generation - that's still the simplest definition of HOF
2. PEDs have been around forever - more potent ones in the late 90's sure, but nobody seemed to bother about Mike Schmidt's greenies
3. If almost everyone was using, as some players suggested, then the playing field is actually somewhat level.
4. Several of these players were well on their way to HOF before using.

I can't stand Barry Bonds but he deserves entry. Ditto for Clemens and McGwire.

For the current crop I like Smoltz obviously, and Pedro and Randy.

I'll be curious to see how ever-ready Eddie does. He was incredibly underrated.

Pedro Martinez
Randy Johnson
John Smoltz
Barry Bonds
Roger Clemens
Mike Piazza
