I don’t think I’ve seen this mentioned but I just brought it up in another thread and think it’s worth discussion. Everyone wants to talk about brand and pageantry and tradition. I think the thing that has most fans so upset right now beyond not winning is the fact that when our beloved Seminoles step on the field…it means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to our opponents. “We are Florida State!” Isn’t scary. The planting of the spear isn’t intimidating. The gold helmets and roar of the crowd and Warchant don’t do anything to give us an advantage. We are a team and program that, at this current moment, have no mental edge over our opponents.

Face it. We are going to have to grind out every chance at victory. UMass included. None of the aforementioned stuff will matter again until this team and staff realizes it doesn’t matter now. The program needs an identity and it needs it quickly. We may want to stop climbing and start grinding because IMO that’s what it’s going to take. Players who are willing to be mean, dirty and play with a chip on their shoulder. Here’s hoping that the one thing that came out of the JSU loss.

sincerely,
A glass half empty fan. Go Noles.
