1) If Golson has it or doesn't. In our first few games, Golson has had excuses for his play: oline giving defenses free passes to the QB, receivers dropping passes my grandmother could catch, etc. But this is the game where we will see whether he is that fifth-year accurate-passing QB leader we all hoped he would be.
2) If Kelly can step up when the competition does. Our defense hasn't faced a team like UM yet. If Kelly hopes to stay in Tallahassee past Christmas, now is the time to show you have turned the page sir. Rivalry games are when you see players take it to the next level, so if Kelly is expecting to shut down this offense like they are BC, it's gonna be a long day.
3) If we have the momentum in recruiting or not. There will be 100 kids (give or take) attending this one (many on officials). An 8:00 kickoff means we really have no excuses but to "do it big" and if we can't, don't be shocked to see some kids reconsidering. Look at the state of the Univ of TX football program. Did you ever in your wildest dreams think a kid would be seeking a transfer out at halftime in the middle of a game? Things turn quick in this business. This match is pivotal for us.
4) If pollsters are ever going to move FSU up. I know Clemson and UF are stronger opponents this year, but if FSU handles their business on Saturday and drops again, we are not making the playoffs.
5) If the bandwagon fans are going to hang around another game or start bailing. With Jimbo's record over the past 3 years and current personal challenges, it's rough to see so many "fans" jumping on him about whatever. This one will either prove them right or wrong on some of the recent chatter (coaching hires, killer instinct, recruiting ability, etc.)
