I bought one of these for my wife who is a fitness nut in the middle of the pandemic. I didn't expect to use it much, but I actually like it no e than I expected. Never took a spin class before in my life.

Anyone else on here use one?

My brother has the Nordic track version I think they are very helpful in cold weather climates when you can't get outside and ride. Something I did it was really stupid after I he got it was to challenge my brother to a race to see if who could complete the most distance in 20 minutes. Not smart for a man in his late 50s and out of shape.after I did that I thought to myself you could have had a heart attack because I was out of shape but I quickly went to max heart rate and held it the whole time. Acting like we were both in our teens

I used to ride over a hundred miles a week hope get back into it

And some of the trainers on Nordic track version are smoking hot so it was pretty easy to follow them 😁

Peleton is absolutely perfect if people regularly like to do spin classes and similar. Not the best choice for regular cyclists though.

I have some friends that use peleton but i use zwift with my bike on a smart trainer. zwift is much more cycling centric and far more immersive.

I remember when Peleton came out I couldn’t believe anyone would pay that much for a stationary bike with a monthly membership on top of that. But I know plenty of people now who swear by it.

Absolutely overpriced, no way around it. The thing about me is I'm cheap, so if I'm going to spend that kind of money, I have to get the value out of it. Between me and my wife, there are an average of 8-9 rides per week on it. She also does the bootcamp and yoga classes in it.

Funny you mention that. I have two friends who are competitive cyclists: one hates it and thinks it's almost a toy, similar setup to your friends bike. The other loves it and rides literally every single day. Amazing the output numbers those guys throw up!

hate zwift or peleton?

for competitive cyclists it can be a toss up between using zwift or trainer road (or the new wahoo platform). the latter two are 100% training and performance specific and very good for that but can get a bit monotonous.

zwift on the other hand covers structured training (to a lesser degree than trainer road), recreational cycling and racing. zwift racing is friggin' awesome.

I dont remember the name but one loves peloton and one hates it.

I am waiting for the version that pedals itself.

I remember a news story about an engineer who set up a stationary bike to a generator and the family had to pedal to watch TV. I don't doubt the family did him in at some point and this guy is now buried in the back yard.

Fiancé wanted one. We got ours ~9 months ago. Absolutely love it. Since we live in Tallahassee, the company outsources all of its service and delivery which literally could not be worse.

I’m extremely competitive and it plays into that part of my brain completely. PM me if anyone wants to ride together.
