First let me apologize to anyone who had a problem with Boosters, tickets, parking or traffic.

I feel a little bit like Coach Fisher in a post game press conference. I want to take responsibility for whatever went wrong but I have to see the film first before I will be able to explain it in accurate detail.

Putting on the first home game is like putting on a weeding for 83,000 people. There are so many details that have to be worked out its unbelievable. And any failure is magnified because of the emotion of the event.

I don't like excuses and any reason is of no use to the person who was harmed. But there is some value in looking back to see what happened that caused the issue so wecan plan to prevent it in the future.

The tickets being delivered as late as they were will not happen again. As I explained in other threads, we had a university wide conversion of data that had to happen when it did and put our ticket office in a bad situation. It will not happen next year.

That late ticket mailing triggered a lot of phone calls the last week which our staff is not equipped to handle, thus we were not able to provide the service we expect of ourselves. Fix the ticket mailing issues and we fix that. We'll also implement some procedures that will help us collect earlier. We simply must move payments in by March 31 as most schools require.

The ticket bar code being separated from the ticket is the unintended consequence of a well intended new product we delivered. We can fix the design for next year and will need to do a great job of communicating to people this week so they are alert to being sure the bring the bar code and ticket to the gate.

The traffic issue i will be briefed on Tuesday. As most of you know, TPD cannot commit as many police to traffic this year and we are adapting to that wrinkle. Will not comment without accurate information.

Hope you all know no one is hiding on these issues or making excuses. We will admit mistakes, communicate and work to do better in the future.
