The Almighty Power Conference is determined by their rankings and not their W-L records...
In the SEC their are 4-5 teams that you will automatically beat every year. (Kentucky,Vanderbilt,Tennessee,Arkansas)
Add in 4 D-II non- conference schools on your schedule and thats another automatic 4 wins...
Now your sitting at 9-0 on top of every freaking poll or rankings.....2 games left to determine how far you go into the bowl season or championship game..
Now slide over to the ACC you only have 2 teams that are extremely powerful and dominate every year. That would be (FSU & Clemson). Every other team is on an even playing field. It has been proven that any given saturday any ACC team can beat up on each other inside their conference. Even when we play outside our conference against the SEC we have a winning record. We (FSU) usually schedule 2 D-II opponents each year and 2 Tough D-1 opponents.(Florida & USF)
Basically all Im saying if I was a new D-1 university about to join a conference and I wanted tough competition every week to determine how good we really are I definitely wouldn't go to the SEC. Because you might only get 4 tough games each year. In the ACC your liable to lose to any team at any given time.
Rankings don't mean crap to the ones who actually watch football...
