FINAL: FSU wins, 35-24

Effective 4 minute drill from FSU is aided by a roughing the kicker penalty on 4th and goal from the 1. Akers trots in for the TD to put a bow on it
Florida State 35, Louisville 24 1:37 4th Qtr

Cyrus Fagan picks off Cunningham and the Cards inside the red zone. UL brings two defensive backs on some outside pressure and leave Tamorrion Terry completely unaccounted for. Hornibrook lobs it to him and it's the easiest 60 yd TD either has ever had.
Florida State 28, Louisville 24 7:55 4th Qtr

Louisville hits a 74-yard TD pass over Asante Samuel. He was right there, just didn't knock the ball down. And now that's 24 straight points for the Cardinals.
Louisville 24, Florida State 21 14:22 4th Qtr

Now six straight drives without a point for FSU offense. That was a four-and-out.

Louisville marches down the field and scores. Because of course. FSU imploding. Again.
Because that's what it does when things don't go well.
Florida State 21, Louisville 17 1:57 3rd Qtr

And things go from bad to worse. Hornibrook has a great drive going. To the Louisville 20. Then they lose 15 yards on a bad snap. Get half of it back and then Aguayo misses his third FG of the day.
Florida State 21, Louisville 10 5:00 3rd Qtr

Not a lot of good for FSU to start the second half. Blackman gets injured on the first drive of the third quarter. He's been in the tent ever since. No word yet on what the injury was or the severity. And then Jaiden Lars-Woodbey just got carted off the field after suffering a leg injury. He had an air cast put on before leaving the field. The FSU defense did get a stop in the red zone and the Cardinals had to settle for a field goal.
Florida State 21, Louisville 10 7:55 3rd Qtr

Aguayo misses another FG. His second of the day. And the Seminoles go into the locker room with a 21-7 lead. Hornibrook led that last drive and drove FSU to the Louisville 30. But because of a couple of incompletions (and some poor clock management on the previous defensive series) FSU had to settled for another missed FG. Those misses were really big. Because, as we know, this offense has a tendency to get into neutral after quick starts.
Florida State 21, Louisville 7 HALFTIME

FSU's defense has played really well all half, but Louisville finally found the end zone after a 16-play drive. Took almost 6:30 off the clock and included a fake punt at midfield and a holding call on an incomplete third-down pass.
Florida State 21, Louisville 7 :44 2nd Qtr

FSU has now had back to back scoreless drives. The last one ended with a 51-yard FG attempt by Aguayo that went wide left.
Florida State 21, Louisville 0 7:06 2nd Qtr

After FSU defense gets a three-and-out, after a bad decision by Louisville to return a muffed kick out of the end zone and only get out to the 1, Blackman comes back in and leads a 39-yard drive. Akers again for the score.
Florida State 21, Louisville 0 15:00 2nd Qtr

Laborn with a 17-yard run on the first play. Then Hornibrook hits Helton with 44-yard TD pass on a slant. Was WIDE open. Good read. Nice throw and catch and run.
Florida State 14, Louisville 0 2:48 1st Qtr

Another stop for the FSU defense. This one wasn't as easy. Gave up a couple of first downs, including a third-and-15 scramble to Cunningham, the quarterback. But they stop him on fourth down to get the ball back. Was still almost a six-minute drive for the Cardinals. Alex Hornibrook getting ready to make his FSU debut it looks like.
Florida State 7, Louisville 0 3:13 1st Qtr

FSU defense gets a quick three-and-out and on the next drive the offense goes right down the field and scores. Eight plays, 73 yards, Akers goes in from a yard out.
Florida State 7, Louisville 0 9:11 1st Qtr

FSU gets the ball first. Drives to the Louisville 26. But on fourth and 2 Akers gets stuffed for negative yardage. Had no chance.

PREGAME UPDATES

3:15 p.m. -- Not much of a crowd so far. Really sparse. We'll see if folks show up late. ... And that's it for the pregame warmups. Both teams have headed to the locker room for final talks. We'll have more when the game begins.

2:50 p.m. -- Jauan Williams is not dressed out. ... Christian Meadows also is not dressed. Has his arm in a sling.

2:40 p.m. -- Travis Jay again is not dressed. Freshman DB Raymond Woodie also not dressed today.

2:37 p.m. -- QB Jawon Pass will not play today for Louisville. ... The Cardinals will go with Malik Cunningham, who started last week.

2:20 p.m. -- Some depth chart notes ...

Lars-Woodbey is listed as the starter at Edge, ahead of Amari Gainer. ... Janarius is listed as the other Edge, ahead of Josh Brown and Adonis Thomas.

Leonard Warner is listed as the starting ILB where Jaiden had been. He's ahead of DeCalon. ... The other ILB will be Rice or Dontavious or McRae.

I think some people have guessed that Logan might be back, since he has been at practice. But he's not on the depth chart. Will still be Martin on punts and Grothaus on kickoffs.

Bunch of players are already out warming up. Mostly skill guys and the quarterbacks and DBs.

It's a nice day but pretty hot. Would guess it's low to mid-90s right now. No shade to be had.

--------------

Good afternoon!

We're here at Doak Campbell Stadium, where the Seminoles are 6.5-point favorites against Louisville. Will have updates coming shortly. We already have a few players on the field:
