Other than being born in Dallas, TX before moving to Miami, FL when I was 18 months old, I have spent my entire life in the SE and Midwest, living in Ohio for nearly 40 years. Now retired, my husband and I, after years of discussion, are selling our home and moving to the Reno-Tahoe area. We've already bought a home there and will be closing on it in a couple weeks. It is going to be an adventure!

Don't forget to get one of these.

I've always liked that area. I lived just south of Carson City for about 8 months. Where did you buy a house?

worked harrah's club south shore Tahoe summer of 66 just before graduating from fsu. great place and area. wife and I honeymooned and skied heavenly. if you ski, think mt rose. know you will love it out there. by the way, did you know Lake Tahoe is the 2nd deepest lake in the world second only to Lake Baikal in Russia?

Only been there once but my god does it snow a lot at Tahoe. Absolutely beautiful area and would love to have a place there myself.

Isn't Lake Tahoe about dried up?

I think that is one of the most beautiful areas in the country. Congrats.

We bought a place in the Wingfield Springs area of Sparks --- Views of the mountains and the Red Hawk golf course...very happy with the home we purchased! We will be about 45-50 minutes from Tahoe and expect to spend a lot of time up there.

The first time I ever saw Tahoe was in 1980...thought it had to be one of the most beautiful places in this country then and continue to feel that way now. My husband's son, grandson, and daughter-in-law live in south Reno. They already have their season passes to Mt. Rose!

So are you living in Reno or Tahoe? I am not a fan of Reno but love Tahoe.

We bought a place in the Wingfield Springs area of Sparks which is just north of Reno --- Views of the mountains and golf course...very happy with the home we purchased! We will be about 45-50 minutes from Tahoe and expect to spend a lot of time up there.

Congrats know the area well. Was just in Tahoe last week. Also frequent Trukee, Fernley and Reno as I have relatives.

Best of luck to you guys! Must feel good to have some family nearby as well.

They had a lot more water than I was expecting. Truckee river has taken the worst hit as far as I've seen.

When we were there in August, we were in Tahoe City, near the bridge that crosses the Truckee River where it begins flowing down into Reno. The lake level was down far enough that it was dry there...I think folks in that part of the world are really hoping for a lot of moisture this winter. Apparently the meteorologists are predicting a significant El Niño...which would help a lot.

Yep, didn't even buy a ski pass this year. Think I've been the jinx as I bought one the last three years. The Truckee from Tahoe City down to the town of Truckee is pretty much dry as no water has been flowing out of the lake all summer. Sad to see.
Our family place is in Tahoe City not far from the bridge.

We hope to be fully in the new place by Thanksgiving at the latest...contact me when you're in the area...always love to meet up with other Noles!
