Given Dalvin's current status, is he prohibited from training with the team and attending practice until his case is fully adjudicated? If so, I think it is safe to say that he does not play until late October -- assuming he is found not guilty.
Also, after reading the full affidavit, it is clear that this will come down to the accuser's words vs Dalvin's. The independent witness did not identify him or, curiously, any other players for that matter. That might actually hurt Dalvin with a jury as it will surely cause some to question the witness' testimony since it is not disputed that FSU players were involved in some sort of dispute with the accuser.
The accuser's father will not even be a factor in the trial as I doubt Meggs even calls him to testify. The young lady with the accuser at the time will be called but her testimony will be impeachable since she was apparently blind drunk.
So this will be a question of who the jury believes -- a woman to whom something happened or Dalvin who contends he was not involved. I hope he testifies in his own defense.
But back to my original question -- is he allowed to practice or not? If so and he is found not guilty he will be ready for the Canes. If not, and he is found not guilty, you won't see a full speed Dalvin until October 31st at Syracuse.
