Leaving upstate New York and relocating to Georgia. Almost 900 jobs moving to the greater Atlanta area.

Will be interesting....this is a once-pioneering American company whose parent entity filed bankruptcy in the last year or two....the hunting industry is generally downtrending over the next 20-30 years, as kids increasingly fixate on their phones instead of pheasants.

They have kinda been busted up.
Federal bought the Remington ammo division (in Arkansas).
Ruger bought Marlin.
Roundhill bought the NY and TN facilities.
I think Remington is now Remarms or some such.

Shoulda come to Florida
stay north of atlanta and they're golden. there's some cracking ranges at the US Forest Service north georgia and southwestern north carolina locations.

it's great up there. go to the drug store to pick up a prescription and grab a few boxes of 5.56 and 9mm while you browse whatever limited stock of firearms they have too. laughed my ass off the first time i saw that until i realized it's perfectly normal for them.

That's great for the people of LaGrange, working close to home beats the heck out of driving toward Atlanta everyday.
it's great outdoors living there too. it's not blue ridge but there's some cracking MTB trails just south of lagrange in columbus.

They aren't the only ones looking to get out of NY and I'm not even fortunate enough to be upstate.

Aren't they just manufacturing ammo now? The entire Sandy Hook nightmare killed them on top of other legislation.

Remington shotgun quality went south fast. The Versamax wasn't enough to save them. I shoot an A400 & probably won't veer from a Beretta anytime soon... as for deer rifles, I'm stuck between a Ruger, Sako, or Christensen for a 6.5 PRC when/if ammo prices come down.

I thought the Vista Group bought Remington and split them up. A shame. I have three Remington rifles and enjoy each one. Great to see them come south. Maybe they will get their act together.
