RIP Scottcu

Ahh dammit!! What a great spirit and sense of humor he had!

I mean this gif in the most respectful way possible...

Good vibes to his family. Bummer for him that he won't get to see the end of Game of Thrones, but he also doesn't have to suffer through any more American Pickers. So...fair trade?
That was my first thought too...guy just wanted to see the end of Game of Thrones. Bummer he didn’t get to.

This sucks but thought I would let the LR know since he posted here a lot and shared his story. The young king passed on yesterday, he and I go back several years as we were coworkers together.

Thoughts and prayers for his family during this time.

Thank you for sharing....I hope his girlfriend/fiancé/significant other is doing well...she hung with him through thick and thin as I recall..she seems to be/have been an incredibly caring person...all my best.

Scott was my favorite poster. Hell, the dude read and posted in the LR using his friggin eyes to type and still managed to bust balls and crack jokes. If I can manage only a fraction of his gravity, humor, and relativity, I consider that a success.

229, what else can you tell us about who Scott was? Link to obit?
Honestly how he was on the boards, he was even better in person, one hilarious dude...30 years old gone too soon.

There will be no funeral, they will have a memorial of some sort in a couple weeks. Once they give the details I will update the thread.

Thanks for letting us know. It is so difficult to lose a friend.

I was sad to see the loss as well. I had actually just found out Scott had ALS late into his journey. We went to high school and FSU together and my best memories were from flag football. He mainly played defense from what I remember. One of the craziest times was when we had a flag football tournament and somehow he collided with another player and started coughing up blood. He still wanted to play but we made him go get checked out! Everything turned out OK from that but I'll never forget that tourney. We all had a blast.

We could only hope to go so quickly given the option.
As you say, the guy was an awesome example of a cat who kept it up just as long as he could.
Happy trails, Scott. I hope that soon enough there are treatment options for Lou Gehrig’s disease. A great friend and neighbor of ours died in his early 40’s fighting that crap until the end.
I commend you, scottcu for leading the charge, and thank you for posting here so that we could all understand even a tiny bit of your struggles. You earned my respect early and often sir.

Would have earned more by changing the screen name

Again, unnecessary and too far. I am usually on board with a little dark humor and often make statements that are controversial. I laugh often when you post dark humor, but sometimes there are boundaries. Have a heart, please delete.

After one of his first posts here where he told his story I made that suggestion and he thought it was hilarious. I believe he asked @DFSNOLE how to do it and decided he didn’t want to jump through the hoops with Rivals.
