Kiari Robey has been selected as ACC Defensive Player of the week for the second time this season. Her first selection as ACC Co-Defensive Player of the week was awarded on Sept. 25.
Robey, an Atlanta native and Oregon transfer, had clutch performances this past weekend for the Seminoles. During Friday’s matchup against Pittsburgh, she was a defensive force leading the Noles with 12 blocks. She contributed to the victory by adding six kills, two aces, and three digs.
In Sunday’s victory over Virginia, Robey continued her defensive dominance with a team high eight blocks. Again, she registered six kills to help Florida State move to 18-8 on the season.
Her authority on defense was known this weekend as she finished with 2.22 blocks per set.
On the season, Robey leads the Seminoles with 114 total blocks, averaging 1.21 blocks per set, ranking sixth among ACC players. Her .402 hitting percentage ranks sixth in the ACC.
