I'll admit that I don't watch enough NFL to understand some of the rule differences? So, why was Dallas called for roughing the passer on a clean tackle? That made zero sense to me.

Sports are becoming unwatchable with their attempt to regulate every detail of the games

Can't tackle him below the knee.
So there is basically a "strike zone" for tackling in the NFL? Anything not at the waist is a penalty? That's stupid!

On the QB in the pocket, yes. The owners got sick of their 22 million dollar a year QBs getting hurt.

I believe the rule is a defender can no longer tackle a QB low while he's in the pocket, and the newest rule is no landing with your full weight on the QB during a sack. The first was due to Tom Brady's ACL injury several years back and the newest rule was from an Aaron Rodgers' injury last year. Total BS to rewrite the rule book due to random injuries.

It wasn't QBs, it was Tom Brady. The year he was injured by a guy hitting him in the knee they changed the rule.

Now I understand coming in and going low. However, when the defender is already on the ground and is reaching out to grab the QB, that should be legal. Otherwise, just going to the ground takes a defender out of a play.

IMO there was nothing wrong with the Cowboys sack. I even think the defender tried to take it easy and not injure the Eagles QB.
