Has anyone had it? What does it go for on the secondary market? I have a chance to get my hands on one from last year. Looking to see if it’s worth the trouble to grab it and resell it.

Pretty good stuff, haven’t seen this batches pricing yet but probably $150ish at Sam or around Mass. Its not epic, its just a good high abv strong “beer” from a brewery that’s gotten stale.

Won't argue with the 'stale' part, but I'd still pick it every time IF I had to choose from the among the 'major' national beer brands. I particularly like their Octoberfest variety.

I think Sam Adams is underrated, especially by beer geeks. Sam makes some of the best lagers anywhere (try the black lager if you can find it). The pilsner is top notch, as is the Octoberfest.

Jim Koch made mistakes early on in trying to emulate foreign beers in a way that really represented the ingredients and style (hence their awful initial attempts at pale ales) rather than being innovative and reinventing the style.

He has since reversed course on some of these fronts and they're doing pretty well with new styles. The new New England pale ale and the Sam 76 are really good. Plus it's hard to beat their prices.

It doesn’t have much of a secondary value. Most places sell it between $200-250 its freaking delicious. Very sweet, after dinner sipper. 1oz pours is plenty. Once opened it will stay good indefinitely. I’ve had bottles of it open for years.
