I get that the majority of us are relieved that EG was named as the starter. I often question in my mind the product that we are going to put on the field before the season starts. It's main reason why I LOVE college football.
Offensively, we should have no weakness other than youth. It's incredible to think about the talent that we have at all skill positions and the OL albeit young are large individuals and I believe Trickett will have them ready. Will EG gel with the weapons he has at his disposal or will it matter? Given his history I believe he can make things happen when the line breaks down and Jimbo can/will guide him to success. I'll be shocked if we don't score 30+ points per game.
On defense, the potential is there. Will they have the hunger to play every down like it's the last and punish opposing teams on every down? Can/will they maintain assignments and get to the QB? Other than depth issues at LB, we seem to have no weakness on defense as well.
I'm admittedly a homer but realize that without Jameis, this is going to be a different team with a completely different personality. The constant is Jimbo and staff and I believe we are blessed with the best coaching in college football. I think we could surprise everyone and go all the way or lose 2-4 games. That's what is phenomenal about this game. Let's enjoy the ride and support our Noles from start 'till finish.
