I bleed Garnet and Gold and have North Florida marrow in my bones, but my wife is being transferred from the Forgotten Coast to Seattle, WA. I am really hoping there are some Seattle Noles on this board to give me a few pointers about life in the PNW and let me know if there is an FSU bar in the area. Thanks in advance for the info.

Lol, no. My wife had a great opportunity, so we are heading that way; even though I am still trying to get over the beating administered by another team in an adjacent state! I am actually job hunting in the area. Do you live there?

BHN, thx for the info and the link. I will definitely be there to watch games next season.

I have visited Seattle a couple of times - it's a VERY cool city.
But, go ahead an buy a sun lamp before you leave town.
Good luck out there.

I have been with my girlfriend who is from there several times and it is one of the coolest cities I have visited in the world. There are endless things to do out there. Hiking out there is amazing, great bars and restaurants. As far as the weather, I have been lucky and had great weather out there. Pike's Market is some place you must visit at least once and when there check out the Gum Wall. They are not into college football like the Great Southern states, but like anywhere in the U.S. There will be plenty of Noles to enjoy our games with . Good Luck

I am going to Seattle for the first time in May for two days. Mainly focused on greats places to eat and drink. Two lunches and two dinners. Any suggestions? Will probably be my last time for a long time in Seattle so willing to go all out. Thanks!!

I lived there a couple of years as a kid; one of my best memories is making little wooden hydroplanes, attaching a string and pulling them across freshly cut grass.

Great seafood town. Two of my favorites downtown are Aqua on pier 70 and Cutters Crabhouse down the street from the market. Both have amazing views of Elliot Bay as well. The Crab Pot is very touristy on pier 58 and the food has been inconsistent in my visits, but you do get some bang for your buck.
Paddy Coyne's on pier 70 is my favorite boozer, great pints and walking distance from where I stay. Belltown has a bunch of bars and pubs along 1st and 2nd Ave's.
If you get a chance, take in a Mariners or Sounders game. Plenty of good little bars and restaurants within walking distance of the stadiums. Sluggers next to Centurylink is my favorite, but I have not had a bad time at any of them. Safeco Field is the best modern ballpark I have been to. Sounders games are unique in that there is no soccer atmosphere like it in the country.
If you are staying downtown, you can Uber anywhere I mentioned above for less than $10.
And I could write for an hour about all of the great things to see and do outside of the city. Take a ferry, drive east or west to the mountains, go kayaking on Lake Union. And if you are lucky enough to be in town on May 2, go to the Beer and Bacon Classic at Safeco Field. Have fun!

I love Seattle. I would love to move out there. Tallahassee is my home but Seattle is an awesome town.

Yeah there is actually quite a large group of us here. In fact just yesterday we officially received club status from FSU. Jump on our Facebook group Seattle Seminoles and introduce yourself. Most of us are quite active on that group. We also normally have a pretty large kick off party in august.

Lucky for you, global "climate" change has really kicked in this year in the PNW so it's been mild and mostly sunny this winter. In fact right now it's blue skies and 52 for a high, with 60s coming next week!(however that's also meant a shitty skiing if that's your thing) So it's a great time to move. When are you planning on getting to town? Like I said jump on the Facebook group you'll find all the help you need there, welcome to Seattle, come enjoy all the great local beer and coffee joints we have. Trust me you'll never want to leave.

Born and bred in Clearwater, FL but living in Seattle since 2002 and a die hard Seminole fan. I'm happy to provide any recommendations you need. Just let me know what type of food you would like or things you are interested in and I'm happy to give my opinion to help make your trip outstanding.

We are really excited about moving to Seattle and I am ecstatic that there are so many Nole fans in the area. I actually checked out the Seattle Seminoles web page and I am really looking forward to getting involved with some of the community outreach events, like the upcoming food drive. I will actually be in Seattle the week after the food drive to check out housing and hopefully meet with some employment contacts.

We are planning on moving early this summer. I am like a century behind the times, and don't have a FB account, but my wife does and she just joined the group so we can introduce ourselves and keep up with upcoming events. I look forward to meeting everybody.

Luna, I have family in the Tampa/St. Pete area and we go down there quite a bit. I love Tampa and until recently I was certain we were going to move there, but there was something about the opportunity to move to Seattle that I couldn't pass up. Hopefully I will find enough "Florida" in Seattle that I won't miss my home so much.

Seattle is an awesome city, Puget Sound an awesome region, North Cascades an awesome range. Lots of Noles, most games have more than 100 people the last year or so.

Summer is great, fall is very good, spring is okay, winter... well, usually is turrible but not bad this year. It doesn't rain as much as people think but winter (Dec-Feb) is usually cool, cloudy, misty, and dark while summer (Jul-Sep) is sunny almost every day and 75 degrees.

Great breweries, growing group of distilleries, food, entertainment, sports. It's an amazing place to live if you can handle three months of relatively infrequent sunshine.
