My divorce was finalized today, and I want to move to Seattle, Washington to start over again. I've heard bits and pieces (mostly good) about it. I know it rains quite often there.( I lived in Germany where it rains and is often grey and cloudy)but I can live with that. Does anyone have any information on rent and nightlife?

Seattle is awesome. Id look in the area near downtown,Capitol Hill. Nightlife is great in Seattle and the outdoor activity is exceptional. The rain isn't nearly as bad as people think. Tally gets more rain than Seattle.

I don't live there but I went visiting not that long ago. I love Seattle and might end up moving there but if you're really wanting a 100% fresh start and have complete control look into Vancouver. Vancouver is basically an improved Seattle. I can't think of too many places I'd rather live over Vancouver. Maybe Sydney and the traffic there is %*%*. Certainly nowhere in the US.

Rent will be expensive. It's not a cheap city. Probably not as bad as San Francisco, but on the level of SoCal.

The rain is a bit overblown. We have more days of rain than say Tally or Boston, but the vast majority of time it is just a drizzle. We very rarely getting that super heavy downpour that you experience in Florida.

In the 3 years that I've lived here, we have had little to no rain between July 4th and the end of September.

The only thing that bothers me is the potential to miss an FSU games on tv. Hopefully AT&T Uverse ( my current provider) will show them.

Great city, I've spent time there visiting family but not lived there. as mentioned not cheap but it's not Manhattan or San Fran or that crazy and lots suburbs close by more affordable thsn downtown.

Phenomenal beer scene, breweries and also good music venues. Good outdoor stuff you'll get used to the common drizzles I'm told.

It's s foodie city too, seafood especially is excellent! Good choice.

Vancouver I've heard great things but the taxes......

My opinion but I liked Toronto a bunch more than Vancouver as far as Canadian cities. If it weren't for the winters I would move there in a heartbeat. Second favorite Canadian city would be Montreal. Cleanest city I have ever seen.

If I was independent and had a very good income I would move to downtown San Diego. Of course I love baseball.

Now Seattle I really liked as well. My wife doesn't want to move there because it is too far from FL. I wouldn't mind living on Bainbridge island and taking the ferry to work everyday. That scenery is fantastic.

I liked Toronto as well. It was basically a cleaner and nicer NYC. But Vancouver was a cleaner and nicer version of Seattle and for me that trumped Toronto. But I can definitely see the draw. I've yet to go Montreal which everyone says is a cleaner and nicer version of New Orleans. Hmmmm....I'm noticing a pattern here.....

Great city, great job market. Very expensive, but the jobs pay better here. Don't forget about bellevue and redmond, both have great downtowns and night life, but are just as expensive. I wouldn't move back to Florida for anything. You won't be disappointed moving here.

Moved here 30 months ago. Live downtown on the waterfront and pay 2k for a 1 bedroom 950sqft condo that includes one parking spot. Have yet to miss an FSU football, basketball or baseball game that is televised. (directv and ESPN3 help). Strong alumni group that meets at Fado (World Sports Grille before moving this past fall).
Absolutely love living here. Thought the move might be biting off more than I could chew, but it has been awesome.

It's 2015...how would you not be able to see any game you want to?

Jump on Seahawks bandwagon like most of their fans.
Plenty of things you can knock about the Seahawks and Seattle. The loyalty and passion of their sports fans is not one of them. Great sports town.

I am thinking about moving to Seattle in the future. We visited Vancouver and Seattle last June and both cities were fantastic. I can see living in both without a problem. Go to Serious Pie in Seattle for some excellent pizza.
