I just did a quick scan of 5 secondary ticket online markets (Stubhub, Vividseats, TicketCity, Primesport and ebay). Combined those 5 sites are offering over 11,000 seats for sale, 7,200 on stuhub alone (I assume these are all unique offerings and that people don't list the same seats on multiple sites)- that is roughly 15% of the stadium capacity - and the majority of those are in the lower bowl with prices generally in the $700-$1,500 per ticket range. I don't typically purchase tickets on the secondary markets, but 11,000 tickets for sale less than 2 weeks from the game seems like a lot to me. Is it?
Also, from what we've been told, most of those lower bowl tickets (between the 30s) went to Falcons season ticket holders, who now seem to be trying to unload them at 300-500% markups in order to recoup some of their PSL and season ticket cost. This has me wondering if there are going to be a lot of empty seats in the lower bowl come game time and, if that ends ends up being the case, offering those to Falcons season ticket holders may have been a bad idea - for perception of the game. The tickets got sold, so no financial penalty for the stadium or the Kickoff Classic - but 10,000 empty seats could look pretty bad on TV. If those don't sell online, I don't see all those falcons fan driving downtown on the Saturday of labor day weekend to sell them on the street and, if they were planning on selling the tickets, I assume they have other plans for labor day weekend and won't sit in their seats either.
