Florida State sophomore left-handed pitcher Tyler Holton struck out 11 batters Saturday in his team's 8-0 win over Samford at Dick Howser Stadium.

Holton's latest performance set his new career-high in strikeouts. It also served as the latest testament to how he's improved with each start dating back to last season.

So far, Holton is 2-0 with 19 strikeouts and a 0.69 earned run average.
