First off, I can't stand country music, my wife enjoys it, but growing up listening to Van Halen and Motley Crue, I never liked country music at all. My wife really enjoys it, but when we're in the car together, she'll change it to something that we both can listen to.

So my buddy (who I've seen Motley Crue with about 7 or 8 times and we're going for the last time on October 17th, here in the big city) who's been by our sides since my son's passing, and he texts or calls everyday to check in on us, has gotten us tickets in a suite to go see Shania Twain, tomorrow night here in Manchester. I looked her up briefly, and I guess she's country with a little pop sprinkled in.

I don't want to go to the show, but I've dragged my wife to dozens and dozens of rock concerts over the past 25 years, and she really could use a fun night out, so I'd pretty much be a heartless, selfish and miserable SOB if I didn't go with her. She really wants to go, and to go with me. I don't drink anymore, so having a few belts to loosen/lighten up won't work either.

So my question is, what kind of show does she put on, is she entertaining for the casual listener? I've Youtubed some stuff, and I can't really get into, so I'd be faking that I'm having fun so she'll have a fun night.

For anyone who's seen her, a concert review would be a little helpful and appreciative!

Her most recent pictures look pretty good. Of course I was thinking of Taylor Swift when I went to look up Twain because I have no clue about country music or country/pop music.

I saw her in concert a number of years ago, when she was at the height of her popularity. I'd say she is more pop than country; show was fairly entertaining.

She is (or at least was) smoking hot, she has a fairly good voice, and the music is upbeat.

You know you're going to the show, so try to have fun.

Shania's OK. Enjoy yourself & be glad the Mrs. isn't dragging you to a Willie Nelson concert.

She was beautiful and had a great voice, but somehow lost it. I think she lost the ability to sing/confidence more than her voice. She was the original Taylor Swift - pop/country - with the exception she actually had some pipes.

She looked like my buddy's wife so I kind of liked her back in the day. I would assume it would be Vegas "best of" kinda show.

Luckily, you're still the one that your wife wants to go to the concert with. So, from this moment on, you might as well resign yourself to going and trying to enjoy it for the wife's sake - at least if you want her keeping inviting you to things forever and for always.

The only thing that I know for certain is that she feels like a woman.

I'm never on these boards anymore but sorry to hear bout the passing of your son. I know the show will probably suck for you but just do it for your wife. I'm sure you can probably both use a little enjoyment right now. I'm sure she still looks damn good but here's a few reasons to go.

Very sorry to hear of your son's passing. Go with your wife and think of how happy you're making her and you'll enjoy yourself. It's just for a a few hours.

Expect a hot milf in sexually suggestive clothing, playing female empowering songs, and be ready for the after party at home with the wife.

Wow Russ... just... wow. I'd say something about a man card, but I got all the tie-ins there.

Stupid woman just cancelled her show because she's sick.

That's a shame. I've seen her in concert and I thought she was very entertaining. What she does is not exactly what you might classify as country. A lot of rock and pop cross over in her material.

I work part-time for the Hornets and get to see many shows/games throughout the year…I worked Shania in July and was at the end of the thrust part of the stage. Standing over me 1-2' away for most of the set….let me tell you for a lady that's 49 or 50 she's still smoking hot.

It's a good show you would have enjoyed it.

Sorry to hear about your son I'm not on the boards that much anymore either.

Its not who's playing at a country concert that you pay attention to, but rather all the hot ass girls posing as cowgirls in daisy dukes and tube tops in the audience. Might make you harder than steel reinforced woodpecker lips! Your wife will be double happy! To bad she cancelled.

hahaha…stage bro stage! And yes this gig has it's perks!
