I think that short yardage plays have been one of Jimbo Fisher's biggest areas of weakness during his time as head coach. I think missing that 4 and 1 during the Oregon game really changed the game and may have cost us the game. Coach Bowden at one point had 34 Wham with Danye Williams I think. Seems like that play never failed to get 1, 2, or 3 yards. I think the young man from Tallahassee Vickers might be good in conjunction with Freddie Stevenson. Seems to me with an OL approaching an average of 320 lbs we should be able to have a good short yardage game. In the 70's the Oakland Raiders had a full back number 40 and he was their short yardage specialist.
