In no way are we similar to the Patriots of a few years past where they started slow, but stuck to their system (we call it "the process") and grinded it out and still had a great season, but... We are improving. The schedule so far has worked in our favor. Golson has managed the game great. Jimbo is starting to go out of his comfort zone and calling to go for it on 4th down.
Again, I'll get blasted for comparing us to the patriots, but they are very system heavy like FSU. Yah, they have Tom Brady, but Matt Cassell executed very well in that system, but not outside of it. The Patriots defense plays bend but don't break like ours. Just reality.
This team executed great on that last drive. Fought adversity on 3rd and long, and everyone remained focus. I'm a life long Jets fan and I've watched The Patriots this entire time, and FSU this year looks like the slow start Pats. Heavy system based, but once the players hone in and focus on basic execution... It makes us very hard to beat.
Remember, we ARE everyone's super bowl. Other teams will press and make mistakes. We just have to focus and execute and grow.
