Smashing Pumpkins tickets go on sale today for the Tampa show

7/25 at Amalie Arena. It's been about 25 years since I've seen them. That was at The Moon in Tallahassee.
The best concert I saw in Tally when I was in school at FSU was when they played Leon County Civic Center in 94. I want to see them down in South Florida.

I always liked them better than Pearl Jam or Nirvana. Not for everyone, but I'm a big fan of the Pumpkins. I last saw them at the Tabernacle in 2001.

While I liked and still like PJ more, the cult-like following of their fans has always annoyed me.

Smashing Pumpkins > All of Seattle Music combined...though in fairness, I don't really see any reason to compare them. Just saying that if you must compare them, the Pumpkins win in a landslide.

Cherub Rock is one of the all-time great rock and roll anthems ever written.

Better than Jimi Hendrix on lead guitar, Chris Cornel and Kenny Loggins on lead vocals, Eddie Vedder and Dave Mathews on backing vocals, Dave Grohl on drums, Jeff Ament on bass, Stone Gossard on rhythm guitar, Kenny G on rock soprano sax, and both Macklemore and Sir Mix-A-Lot spitting dope rhymes in the bridge?

Cuz I think you’re exaggerating.

Better than their contemporaries that were from Seattle...

(But yes, also definitely better than Kenny Loggins.)

It’s all opinions but I prefer Nirvana more than anyone from the 90’s era. I do like the Pumpkins more than Peal Jam though.

Saw them in Tally back in 94..

How the hell did I miss this? Was it early in ‘94? I enrolled at FSU in the summer of ‘94. I only remember STP coming that year. That STP show to this day is probably my second favorite concert.

Got my tickets for the Miami show. I’ve been reading that they aren’t selling to many. When I saw they were playing Arenas, I figured that might be an issue.

Well at least there will be tickets for me. I hope to go.

I went to the STP concert too, and the Pumpkins show was better. They had chairs on close to the stage and people were passing them around and they ended up on the stage.

For me the show I kick myself in the pants about missing was Nirvana. I still don’t know how I missed that one. I was probably too drunk on Busch Light to have noticed that one of my favorite bands was playing in Tally.

I was at this show. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-...m-and-mary-hall-williamsburg-va-73d7cee9.html

One of the best I have seen by any band. I recall being amazed how good a guitar player Billy was...he was ripping off Van Halen riffs in one song.

I can’t remember...did I know you were in the Williamsburg area? It’s kind of amazing how many of us Tribesmen are/were on here considering how small the College is compared to FSU. I knew three others who used to post including my best man and that doesn’t count the guy who masqueraded as a Nike rep/William and Mary alum/sports agent/military guy.

I wasn’t a giant fan of the area as Tidewater and NoVa combine the worst aspects of the North and South into one (so rather than the melting pot taking on the best of both worlds it has the racism and general redneckery of the South with the quick tempers, insults and ahat driving of the North mixed in with a love of public tobacco smoking in tight spaces that only Virginia and parts of North Carolina still have), BUT I still have a craving for country ham biscuits (the nonsweet, dense but thin kind) and Buttermilk pie at Old Chickahominy House, the pate, watercress and house dressing sammy from the old Cheese Shop and the pulled pork from Pierce’s.

They still have tickets available for the Nashville show for $29 (plus Ticketmaster $16 rape fee).
