A bunch of stoned and drunk ya-hoos at the US Open, should make for a interesting tourney

I hate the fact that such a storied tournament is being played on such a new and unconventional course. And that stoners will be openly smoking pot on the premises -- during the U.S. Open, mind you -- makes it all the more difficult to fathom.

On the other hand, who am I kidding? The modern "U.S." hardly resembles what it once was (and still could/should be)....why would our national golf tournament somehow be any better or different?

What's the difference if people smoke a J instead of drinking a bud light? The horror!

Just means the concessions stand will make bank.

Oh, god...I've never had douche chills this intense before.

they would have to throw in shrooms and acid to make golf interesting
I used to think the same thing when I was a kid. Missed out on a lot of good times on the links.
playing is one thing...not my cup of tea, but i can see how people would enjoy it. Standing around watching someone else play golf is a different story.

Watching tiger woods poop himself all over the course is reason enough for me to watch. Crash and burn baby, woohoo!

Attending a golf tournament involves hours and hours of standing, waiting and jockeying for position in the hopes of getting a glimpse.

Looking at those views last night. If, theoretically, I was holding a stash of special brownies, I think I'd park my happy butt on that green that border Pudgett Sound and not move. Likely, they would have to roll up a golf cart to move my baked butt out of there.

I think the greenskeeper has been hitting the pipe hard. Those greens are embarrassing. It's like the British Open has come a month early this yr. That course looks like a goat ranch.

Thoroughly enjoying watching Tiger hack it around though

Course looks weird on TV, lots of brown, faded green. I know the west coast has needed rain badly, so maybe that is it?

A friend was there last week and said it doesn't look near as bad in person.

Per some of our guys in Seattle that have played there, during normal (non-USGA tournament) where the fescue is allowed to grow, it's very nice. But when The USGA came in the shaved the greens down it killed it....they are blaming the ag-experts from the USGA

It got a lot more expensive recently. Heard it was $65, but they bumped it to like $225 a round. Ouch!
