I know some will say it's JUST Texas State, but that's not a bad team (unlike the team the boys down south played). On the 1st drive we DOMINATED the line and the ground game. This offense can be very special. We will obviously see how they do against better defensive teams but I believe they can be great by the time we need them to be. (Ball security for cook though really needs to be hammered home, he need to hold onto that football)
The defense has a few things they need to improve on, like getting more sacks, but they already look much improved over last year when we played teams of a similar caliber.
Special team needs to get it together. Jimbo has already addressed this, but it really needs to be ironed out because right now this is looking like our biggest weakness.
Some other thoughts:
The graphics they are using on ESPN for 1st & 10 banner etc seemed to be more red than garnet to me. Don't know if anyone else noticed that. I hope that gets fixed. Same thing for the paint on the field at mid field, seemed to look more red than Garnet not sure if this was the case for those at the game but on the TV it looked that way. (not trying to turn this into a hate on the new logo thread just was an observation that I hope is not permeant)
I think we have a real special team this year and I can't wait to see us play more this Saturday!!! I think we could go on another great run this season! GO NOLES!!
