I get the whole AAU thing, and how teams have contracts with either Adidas, Nike or UA, and how those players are steered to colleges who have the same contract, by the AAU coach and the Sneaker company. But how does that stop a player from signing with a college who has a different contract with a different shoe company and why does the player care, until he goes pro to which he can switch to any shoe company he wants. I understand this is heightened with one and done players, but still how and why is it that big of an issue?
