Speaking of grotesque: House That Jack Built

Lars Van Trier's new movie about a serial killer appears to be too much for Cannes. Over 100 people walked out. Movie has Matt Dillon and Uma Thurman. Scenes depicting the murder and mutilation of small children and woman seems to be the proverbial line in the sand for most people. I'm going to take a hard pass on this one:

I'm a pretty good movie guy, and I haven't watch any either, with the exception of a little bit of one of the Nymphomaniac movies, for um, "research".

I've never read a description of one that remotely sounded like "yep, that's something I want to see."

I have been a fan of Lars Von Trier since I first saw Breaking the Waves in high school. His Kingdom television series was just fantastic, and Melancholia is one of my favorite movies. I will definitely check this one out at some point.
