Does anybody 'give' Uber rides? Know anybody that does? How does this work?

I have never applied, but they have been playing a lot of commercials about it here. I guess you submit an application. They inspect your vehicle, run a background check, put the App on your phone and you are off.

There are now new regulations at least in Tallahassee. If you want to drive for Uber or Lyft, you must obey the cities Insurance and permitting rules and also must follow the same rules as cab drivers when making pick-ups at the airports. They are not held to the same pricing requirements as taxi services are however.

Ever heard of "airbnb"? It's the house version of Uber

Yeah I drive for Uber. All I had to do was wash all the blood off my car and pass a quick background check.

I have a lazy friend who is one.

You need a car that is 2012 or newer. Pretty easy process to get approved. They also offer a phone so that you aren't using your data on your personal phone for GPS. That's like a monthly fee.
