Spurrier, age 75, has apparently had enough of the beach. He just reduced the sales price on his beach compound to $5.8MM. Crescent Beach, just south of St. Augustine. All good things must come to an end.

That's surprising - its in a really good spot and the market is ultra hot. He probably did have it a bit overpriced. You know, it belongs to Steve Spurrier, so it's priceless...💩

His originally ask was $6MM. A little surprised some fat-cat gator booster did not quickly buy it just as a brag piece.

They still might. But a lot of them already have a place in Crescent Beach. 🤑
I'm thinking the Big Sleazy is the Crescent City. Not that there is anything wrong with that a la the Moon over Miami neighborhood. I hear there are a lot of hot spots in south Jax, too. The cypress trees really add to the landscape.

Is ultra hot more than very red hot?; asking for a friend.
I like the word "Ultra." A real catchy mind provoking adjective if you ask me. It's like the hotel prices in Tally are ultra high. I get it now. Thanks.

That's not a bad price really. Huge house, looks solid, it should sell unless the inside is decorated in all dayglo Orange and Blue. 😝

Looks pretty nice.

Looks like he owns several other properties nearby. Maybe just downsizing. That is a big house foe two people.

Steve is also one of the cheapest people on earth. Also, his kids and grandkids are busy doing their own things, and don’t come around like the old days. The taxes and insurance premiums on that compound are significant. At age 75, I understand why SOS is ready to reduce his outflow. His buddy Stoops is right down the street.

I am locked out of the Taggart salary thread but you were asking why Wilcox suddenly left. Dot has stated a couple times that his contract wasn’t being renewed. Would be interesting to know what changed so quickly after his marquee hire. That thread is an interesting read and I for once am glad I am locked out.

Yes, things definitely changed QUICKLY. Would love to know more. I am friendly with a former Trustee who seems to speak more freely the further “downstream” he gets. Thanks for the feedback.

There must be 100 shirts in the closet photo - I didn't think Steve liked shirts.

One Hurricane surge from a disaster. No thanks. My flashbacks of last years storms continue..... but it was a WEIRD year.

And that's just his beach house - must be nice in some ways, maybe not all.

The page shows almost $5k / month in taxes and $2K / month for insurance. I guess that's chump change to him.
