We will see in the first 5 games if FSU has confidence, consistency and coaching, and if the hard lessons from the past influence the future. I don't see the Norvell Era withstanding a record worse than 4-1 in those 5 games in the long run....
1-4 or 2-3 would be a "Alford is making calls" type stumble.
3-2 would be a "step", but just a small one on the way to a 6-6 regular season, and not one to move the recruits.
4-1 would be a "stride", but basically the minimum needed to know the future at least is brighter.
5-0 would be the "leap" needed to make a splash, make top recruits notice, and get the fan base truly behind CMN
