First it was Media Day. Then Fan Day. Now we're at the open practice portion of Sunday's affairs where fans and media were invited to watch the team's entire session at Doak Campbell Stadium.

It's fair to estimate there's about 1,000 to 2,000 fans who are out here and there's some specials guests as well. Former Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Raiders running back Marcus Allen is on the sidelines. As is former Seminoles defensive back Stanford Samuels II, who has been at practice quite a bit this week.

As a head's up, because we spoke with Fisher earlier in the day, we will not be speaking with him after practice. Now, for the news:

>FSU was missing a few players from Saturday's practice who are back today. Dontavious Jackson returned after having a virus of some sort. Hamsah Nasirildeen still had a blue jersey but it was draped around his waist. He was still active during drills and did not show any signs of being slowed down. Joshua Kaindoh, who had a few bumps and bruises, returned but would get spend practice getting in some rehab work. Alexander Marshall was at practice but did not dress out as one of his hands was wrapped up.

>We saw Josh Sweat dressed out at practice but near the end of first period, he was receiving some extra stretching with the training staff. As of know, he's getting work in on the stationary bicycle. It's likely we'll know more about Sweat on Tuesday when practice resumes.

>Rick Leonard and Josh Ball worked out at left tackle. Landon Dickerson and Ethan Frith got time at left guard. Alec Eberle and Baveon Johnson ran out at center. Cole Minshew and Andrew Boselli grabbed some time at right guard while Derrick Kelly and Brock Ruble were at right tackle.

>The quarterbacks and running backs spent about five-to-10 minutes working on hand-offs. Not the most attractive aspect of practice, but, Fisher was pretty animated about it. He got onto a few players for not being perfect with their form.

>Because this was held at Doak, it was easier to see what the defensive backs were doing. They're typically on the other side of the practice field and observing them can be difficult. They were working on a block-shedding drill. The goal was to shed two players running at you before wrapping up the third to end the play. When it was time for Derwin James to go, he joked, "ain't nobody want to be third?" Eventually, Ermon Lane stepped in.

>Also, the running backs went through another one of Jay Graham's creative-and-fun drills during individuals. He had them carry two balls -- one in each arm -- while side-stepping a few tackling dummies and running under a bar while someone used an American Gladiators' style pugilist stick to try to jar the balls loose.

Make sure to check back later as Ira Schoffel will provide an observations thread from today's practice.
