Tally’s out of the cone...

At this point in time, computer models are about as accurate as fashion models in predicting what will happen several days out.

I'm fearful of a repeat of the Stanford Samuels game. We get killed and we sit in the rain for hours.

I remember that game well. Saddest part was the crowd showed up despite the weather and was fired up at kickoff.

Was that the game where Jeffy forgot to gameplan for rain?
or was that Louisville?

or was that most of the decade where he forgot to gameplan for any damn thing.
I am still pissed about that Louisville game. We were actually legit that year even with that crap offense.

Anyone remember the pitt game?

When they had Danny boy?

Winning first half, then the friggin monsoons came

When I first went to tally I wondered why they had all those ditches on both sides of the roads

Come spring I got my answers

Friggin whitecaps in those things

My sister was at that game...Said Marino kept flapping his arms and complaining to the officials about the crowd noise. (Remember those days?). The fans started chanting, "Marino is a mama's boy!"

Yes I wanted Tallahassee out of the cone because I am coming to the game. But I didn't want it to shift this way either because now it looks like where I live is going to get hit.

Either way, I'm wondering if I should go to Tallahassee.....

I remember it well. My girlfriend and I sat there in the pouring rain, and watched Pitt come back to beat us. I think there was like a 10-20 % chance of rain, and most of Tallahassee got little or no rain. It was a terrific first half, and I think we win if the rain had not come. It was hot the first half, and Pitt was bigger and slower than us. The rain definitely helped them out.

Stay home and emcee the drinking thread. :p Have a feeling we'll especially need it this Saturday. I know I'm getting started in advance.

I was there, and the weather was absolutely fine when we were tailgating before the game. It really started pouring just at the half and we got to the RV just in time - the old parking lot had that creek/ditch and it totally flooded out. What a disaster.

We are 3 days out and computer models (with all their flaws) are pretty accurate within this timeframe.

Edit: For the game I mean.

You’re referencing the first year when we beat them. They had 4 or 5 high draft picks iirc. Then the next year was the flood at halftime. They won

You're right...except the game you're referencing was in '80. The rain game was in '82.

You are probably correct. It’s been a long time huh?
Yeah...I believe every other time we've played them has been up there (including during the infamous '81 "Octoberfest").

Whether Tallahassee gets hit with hurricane-force winds or not, it looks like it's going to be a very wet afternoon and evening. I have no idea if that favors one team or the other.
