Derek is obviously a helluva talented guitarist but if I never had to hear her voice again I wouldn't complain. Not a fan.

Damn I loved her, guess its all in different taste. They finished up with with Allman bros song jamming Elizabeth Reed. Guest guitarist from widespread panic came out. I bet it lasted 20 minutes of him and Derek just going nuts. Best 50 bucks I ever spent

Great band and Derek is a once in a lifetime talent on the guitar - prolly going to end up of the best all time if he can write a good bunch of songs.

Re: Tedeschi Trucks band

The whole band just blew me away, but he is in a league with a select few no doubt

I use to watch Butch Trucks jam at the old Silver Dollar across from campus. Derek is a terrific talent.

First time I saw Trucks he was, iirc, 12 years old. The State re-wrote some of its' employment laws that relate to bars, because he technically was not allowed to perform for pay in a place that sold alcohol (even with exemptions written basically for him, he had to go outside the building between sets).

He was awesome then, and he's improved with age.

Would've liked to see him up there jamming with Herring, who is also a phenomenal guitarist. I know they've shared the stage a lot of times at various festivals through the years. I believe they're now semi-related; Derek's brother, Duane, is married to Herring's daughter.

That's right. And Duane has been playing with Panic (very very well, in my opinion) while Todd has been in rehab.

He really is tremendous. I'd never really paid much attention to him until seeing him at the Magnolia Festival a few years ago, but I was stunned at how good he is.

I'm a big fan of TTB and Jimmy Herring so I was very jealous when I saw pics online of him coming out for a few songs. I saw them in Jacksonville at the start of this year's tour and they were great. Funny that the Trucks kids work the merch booth with Derek's dad, I complimented one of the kid's FSU shirt and he gave me a free sticker.

Saw TTB last year with the Black Crowes. What a great show. DT is one of the top 3-5 players out there. Love Susan's voice...and the former DTB lead singer Mike Mattison...who is still in the band.
