Found myself in Austin this weekend while the Noles were idle. Attended the Okie State/Texas game. My first time in Austin. Here's my shorthand tale of the tape in terms of comparing the Texas game experience to an experience at Doak :

1. women: Noles - not even close
2. band/cheerleaders: Noles - not close
3. tailgating experience: Noles - very little pre-game atmosphere at Texas (surprised me)
4. atmosphere at game: Noles - Texas' 100K stadium only 75% full, and just very limited energy
5. stadium: Texas - seats are roomier, with far better concession and bathroom areas
6. scoreboard/announcing: Texas - but not overwhelmingly so
7. concessions: Texas - beer and better food options
8. other game updates: Tie - both schools have crappy game updates/ribbons
9. internet/cell phone service: Tie - both are spotty
10. overall: Noles - just a more spirited and fun experience from start to finish. A little disappointed that Texas was not a more festive environment

Our biggest issues are items 5-6-7 above, but I know they are in the process of being upgraded. Even so, the overall Texas experience did not match up to the overall experience at FSU. We have much to be thankful for, especially given the enormous disparity in resources between Texas and FSU.
