Thank You Joe!!

Red Sox fan here and he did to the Rays much like Tom Kelly did with the Twins all those years.

He did a phenomenal job with Tampa, and take away the few internet douche bags, most Red Sox fans appreciate and acknowledge the fantastic job that Maddon did with what very little he had to work with.

I wonder if losing Andrew Friedman had anything to do with the his departure, and is Maddon L.A. bound?

I am not a firm believer that because he was successful with a small market, very low payroll team, that he will be guaranteed success if he lands with a big market, high payroll team, but he has all the markings of being successful elsewhere.

I HATE the Dodgers, so I hope that he does not end up there.

Maddon is 100% baseball man, and this is a huge blow to the Tampa franchise, who knows, maybe the Rays end up in London, with the Jaguars, a package deal!

Didn't mean to stray, but to reiterate my original thoughts, Maddon is as good as they come and Tampa will miss him, as will baseball fans everywhere if the does not make his way back in uniform.

Can't argue with his results or persona.

Hope he does well with the Cubs. I agree his small payroll success is no guarantee but if you're Theo Epstein, you've gotta try.

The AL east will miss Joe.

Interesting to see what will come of Tampa...
