Anyone else watching? Other than Rogue One, this is the only Star Wars content I've enjoyed since the original trilogy. There is hope!

Fair enough, I know SW is one of those franchises where people disagree a lot.

On Mandalorian, I haven't had a problem with the short episodes because important content has been packed in. I'd rather have that than an extra ten minutes or so that normally amounts to filler.

Also like the once a week release style for a series like this, otherwise the fan boys would watch the whole run and blog about spoilers everywhere lol

I like it but I hope it gets a bit better. The episodes are noticeably short and lacking character development. It's a little weird that we never see the main characters face. He's a good actor too. Loved him in GoT and Narcos.

There really is only one character at this point, and it think they are doing a pretty good job or developing him. Actor is tremendous, especially given the fact that you can't see how facial expressions.

Interesting take. My issue is the Mandalorian is a buffoon. I want him to be a superhero but its clear they want him to be poor to average. Unusual tactic.

The thing is, he is human(oid). It's almost how you have to get your mind right before you watch The Punisher who is human but exists in a superhero universe.

I binge watched the 3 episodes. It came across to me is as I was watching a video game play out more than a movie or show. It wasn't bad just a little different than I expected.

At this point, it's often hard to tell which medium is imitating which.

I guess because it perfectly sets up A New Hope. The rest (prequels and sequels) all stink. Han was okay… he deserved better. I like it more than 7 and 8.

Rogue One, Solo, and Mandalorian have been very solid efforts.

the force awakens felt like Star Wars but had several terrible plot points...

- solo being killed by his son
- solo separate from leia
- basically they messed up the original trilogy outcomes unnecessarily.
- porgs

But that was light years better than the last Jedi which

- Completely screwed up luke skywalker’s characterization. As in, made zero sense.
- went on some weird sjw bend with the casino side mission, the portrayal of Poe (who was right) and the nondescript admiral character who came out of nowhere, and didn’t communicate, forcing Poe to act.

those points basically broke the film and the plotting of the entire trilogy.

Beyond that:

- Rey is a Mary Sue. She’s somehow automatically awesome at everything, holding her own against solo, how exactly? I mean, she’s no one, right?

aside from the terrible writing, and completely botching the original trilogy characters, the movies are beautiful and relatively well paced.

the two directors should have probably read Timothy zahn’s trilogy and spent less time thinking about social politics. I know they’ve responded to the latter point. But, their response is to lump that criticism in with the alt right, and that’s just not correct. They shoe horned gender/ses politics poorly into a movie. Had they done a better job at that in terms of logic, it would have been fine. But, they tanked Skywalker, Poe, that admiral woman, an entire side plot, and created a Mary Sue in service of their political message.

Rogue One is awesome all the other new stuff is hot garbage. I have never been less excited about an upcoming release as I am currently.

Mandalorian has been very good so far.

Yeah I was kind of disappointed at them actually showing him. I thought they would at least wait a season or two.
True, but remember only we saw him, not the charaycters in the show. I honestly didn't care if I ever saw him, does nothing for or against the story.
