I believe there ability to cherry pick “big name” programs that add huge value is going to eventually kill the ACC. Yes the ACC might survive playing little boy football but no one will really care. I’ve seen posts on here about the SEC not having huge television markets. I’ve seen posts on here that the SEC can not unilaterally go it alone. I’ve seen posts on here that FSU won’t be hurt. Friends I believe FSU has been hurt and has not seen the worst of the hurt financially. FSU is in the geographic heart of the SEC and will be on their knees begging a way out of this nightmare. FSU has not kept up with the ever changing landscape of the money driver which is football. We pinned our future on the fools on Tobacco Road (ACC CONFERENCE) to keep us afloat with the horrible TV contract. There are going to be those on here that will argue the weaknesses of the SEC; I say ok but the consistency across all sports in the SEC is better and has a brighter future. The landscape has changed, the game has changed, the sources of revenue has changed. All that is left is for two to four more big names programs not named FSU for the final nail in the coffin to be complete. My major comparison is UF because my family is intimately involved with finances there. It takes money across many levels to succeed. I hate the thought of the almighty dollar because it consumes us so often. It though is the main driver for big time college athletics though and don’t forget it!
