The Rams and Charges combined attendance Sunday drew less than the USC/ Texas game.

I'm simple amazed that the NFL doesn't make it there. Is it the weather and all the other options in LA on a Sunday? Is it that college grads would rather go to their college games (much like the south/ unlike the northeast).

I definitely think that California is more similar to the South than the NE when it comes to football. Great high school and usually great college teams equals less passion for the pros. The only place you might argue that the South cares more about the pros is Miami and Atlanta. But they only support winners not losers.

Doesn't help that both teams keep moving around every 10 years, as a fan it's tough to put your heart into a team you basically know will be gone again in < 20 years.

That coupled with the abundance of things to do, traffic, transplant population, and popularity of UCLA and USC.

Oh and the Rams suck and the Chargers are a notch or two above suck -- who's going to pay NFL prices to watch such sucky football when there are so many more interesting things to do?

Im not surprised. The rich owners wanted to be in LA. Glad to see the "regular working folk" not buying into it. Esp since I think LA is a temp stop for the Chargers.

Chargers parking is $100. Beach or watch Rivers throw 3 INT's and sit in 3 hours of traffic? Pretty simple.

Chargers laying out $300M+ for relocation fee, why not put that into new stadium in SD. Spanos made a devastating decision.

Yeah the Chargers should never have left San Diego. It makes no sense.

The Rams...eh, everyone wants to get out of St Louis.

--The first issue is LA doesn't need 2 teams. They effectively split the customer base.

--The second issue is both teams screwed their old fan bases / cities. Kinda tough to get behind a team with a jaded past.

--The third issue is both teams suck.

--The fourth issue is holy mother of hell the prices to see an NFL game these days.... OK seats to a chargers game will run you over a grand for a family of 4.

Los Angeleans aren't going to pay money to see the San Diego Chargers, and San Diegoans damn sure aren't going to make the drive, so there you go.

This. If the Rams are good, people will go see them. But no one is going to leave their enclave to sit on the 405 to go see the Chargers or a bad Rams team.

I have no connection to the city of San Diego, really bothered me that the Chargers left to move to LA. Now they play in a sun belt sized stadium and charge $100 for parking. Like someone else mentioned why couldn't they put the relocation fee into a new stadium?

When they left for LA the value of the Chargers franchise probably went up 75%.

It wasn't really ever about the stadium, it was about beating the rest of the franchises to grab the NFL's second LA slot.

Spanos is also a jerk playing games w/ the team daddy bought.
