We've got 90 guys right now between those that are enrolled and those that are scheduled to arrive this summer. We can only have 85 though.

How do you think that the roster will be trimmed?

Med DQ? I thought that we'd see a couple of guys get Med DQs, but I saw them play in the Spring Game ... Purifoy and Torres. Purifoy made a couple of nice plays, but he just doesn't look right physically and he is really big. Torres didn't compile any stats, but he was on the field.

Here are the five candidates on the defensive side of the ball:
  • Torres - I just don't see him ever playing for us. He's a R-JR.
  • Purifoy - Same for him - don't see him ever playing. He's a R-JR.
  • Williams - He certainly practiced this spring, but don't recall seeing him in Spring Game. He will not be in the two-deep for sure and probably won't be in the three-deep with Wood coming on and Wilson coming in. NG is stacked with better players. He's a R-JR.
  • M. Jackson - He's a true-SR and he played in the Spring Game. He was listed as 2nd string CB last year, but not sure where he shakes out this season.
  • Bryant - He's a R-SR and he certainly practiced this spring and played in the Spring Game. He can't be higher than 3rd team on the depth-chart at SDE with Wilkerson and Robinson almost assuredly ahead of him.
As for the offensive side of the ball ... are there any serious injuries to any of the OL players that may force them to hang it up?

How about Kerr? He's a R-SR to be and he was out for the spring.

And what about Green? Some here suggested that he may look to redshirt.

Lastly ... what about greyshirts (Brooks or Sheffield?) or guys not qualifying academically?

Any thoughts or insight on us trimming the roster to 85?
