Getting a new TV for the bedroom how big is too big? I actually do you watch a lot of TV in my bedroom I have a chair and ottoman beside my bed. Used to have a 32 inch TV and then when it crapped I moved my TV from the living room when I upgraded it is a 42. inch TV. My viewing distance from the head of the bed to the TV is about 15 feet and from my chair to the TV is about 18 feet. Thinking of buying a 50 inch and hanging it on the wall is that too big?

I have a 55inch in mine. It was a good deal and we had the room, so why not. I don't think it needs to be that big though...a 40 inch would be more than sufficient.

Truthfully we never use our bedroom tv which is a good thing. When we bought it (many years ago and it's only a 42 inch I believe) it was when we had Comcast and could only record two channels simultaneously and there would be times where there would be a game or a third show that we wanted to watch at the same time and would need to retreat to the bedroom to catch it. Now that we can record five things simultaneously that need is zero. I haven't even turned it on in probably a year.

We have a 46" plasma in the bedroom. If you like to watch tv after the wife falls asleep, be cautious of going too big. The brightness on some of these things can light up the entire room!

Yeah, my wife and I enjoy laying down and watching an hour of tv before bed. Normally it's Jimmy Fallon, but as of late it has been Homeland. We just started season 3...good show.

I have a 42" wall mounted in my master bedroom, and a 48" on a stand in my guest bedroom. I think the 48 is a bit big for a bedroom, but I don't watch much TV from bed, I'll have it on when I'm sick or for football on Saturdays just to have it on all over the house as I move about.

That's not conducive to good sleep patterns, you're SUPPOSED to leave the bedroom for sleeping and scrumping and you'll subconsciously start to feel more relaxed just by entering the room. I will admit that's somewhat, "practice what I preach" not what I do kind of thing because my wife and I are both guilty of playing around on our phones or tablets instead of trying to sleep. But we've talked about making a change. No internet or games on the phones in bed as they keep you up, just books.

Yeah...that shipped sailed years ago. It actually helps us sleep. My brain seems to never stop, so having the tv on or listening to a podcast etc helps me get to place where I can fall asleep. We also enjoy the time together laughing or watching show. I

Idk...it works well enough for us. I'm sure reading a book or doing a bible study would be better...but meh, we watch tv.

The distance from the head of our bed to the TV is 19'. I just replaced our 40" (lightning damage) with a 48" and it is certainly not too big. I would have no problem with a 55" ... I just didn't want to spend the extra money at the time.

We have a 40" LG in our bedroom but, when I purchase the 65" for my living room that I've had my eye on, our 55" downstairs will go in our bedroom. I'll probably put the old LG in my children's playroom.

55" Samsung in the bedroom. I've never thought "I we had gotten a 40-inch instead."

I wall mounted our old 50 from the living room. I mounted it way up high on a mount that extends and tilts. It hangs above the mirror on our dresser so when you lay back in bed with a couple pillows it's in straight sight. Had it that way for a few years now. My wife goes to sleep with it on and I wake up using it with the news. I like a big TV in there so I don't need to worry about waking up and getting my glasses.

No TV in the bedroom for us. If you absolutely HAVE to get something, I'd go with the 13" black and white. Don't want something massive that'll just overtake the room.

My wife always tells me that but I could drink 3 Cokes while watching The Walking Dead and playing with the iPad and still be sound asleep 5 minutes after the show ends.

I'm with you. I can go to sleep with silence, but watching a mindless show or some movie I have seen 5 million times tends to relax me more to a point where I can fall asleep

I permanently removed the tv from the room about a year ago and it was one of the best decisions ever. I fall asleep faster and sleep better. There's a biological reason for this. Your brain stays alert when you are lighting up the room with the TV and it's harder to fall into deep sleep even after you turn it off. If you have to have one I recommend getting as small as you can live with and turn the brightness all the way down.

We have a 42 inch on the wall in the bedroom. Used sporadically. Occasionally we will watch a show before bed. Also have built in speakers in master bedroom and bath controlled by sonos. Good for ambiance. Stayed in a hotel the other day that had televisions in the mirrors in the bathroom. Thought that was overkill.

Put a 55 in on the wall a few years ago. Watch some shows from the bed, but my wife uses it a lot on Saturdays/Sundays when only other option is football. I will go up there on kiddie movie night, can only watch Wreck it Ralph so many times.

I have a 55". It was a gift. I watch about 10 mins. of tv each night in there. Wife watches maybe an hr. Honestly it's kind of a waste to have it in there. Size wise it's ok,46" would be just fine.
