Is that Norvell's Memphis teams would have absolutely destroyed Jax St. at home. Not just his 2019 team, but probably all of them.
So what's the difference? I'm honestly SMH. Can't be better talent or coaching (at Memphis). Norvell's worked with Dillingham and Fuller before. There's some darn good coaches on our staff, such as Atkins, Johnson and Odell. Norvell is no doubt working as hard (and probably harder in a rebuild) as he did at Memphis.
The effort against ND was great. We all applauded it. Was very encouraging. Then Jax St. happened.
The only logical conclusion is that Norvell will need 2-3 full recruiting classes to get this going. Some of the transfers are nice, but most will be in Tallahassee another 10 weeks. Sure, the coaches shouldn't be screwing around with "creative" formations when the game wasn't decided. But the drops, penalties and missed tackles? It keeps happening. FSU beats Jax. St. by at least 3 scores with it's C game. They did it last year. Unfortunately, some of the coaches and players brought their F game on Saturday night and didn't respect their opponent, and that's how you lose to an FCS team at home.
Pick one QB. Run the ball. Keep the DL engaged and playing well. Tackle. Reduce the penalties. Win a few ACC games. Do whatever you can to hold on to this recruiting class. Crucial.
