Things to do in Rio?

I'm here the next 4 days. Anything I should do besides all of the obvious well known stuff like Christ Redeemer and Sugar Loaf?

check out cable car to sugarloaf mt. the beaches are great and lots of skin if you
know what I mean. get a speedo for trip or you will stand out as a yank. also try
brahma beer. its one of the best I have ever had. lastly find a restaurant where they
carve beef/pork at your table for a real adventure. above all, have fun.

Did all of that except wear a speedo to the beach. Marius might be my new favorite restaurant on the planet.

I loved it. I heard it was very dangerous but we didn't have any issues at all. It's a very unique city in that it's basically built into a mountain rainforest... Stunning views for sure.

We (and the media) tend to sensationalize crime. Very few places are as dangerous as the scaredy cats among us would have you believe, unless you're an idiot with no street smarts or self-awareness.

I loved the amount of greenery in the city and mountains mixed with beaches. it's crazy that a place like that exists. Did you get a chance to go hang gliding? Fantastic experience.

Yea it's definitely a unique city. Didn't do any hang gliding.

I agree with this, I really hate the media. It's just as bad in other countries too.

Even Brazilian people that don't live in Rio tend to think Rio is a war zone.

My fiance's parents live about 5 hours away by car and have never been there.
