2 Days ago Potbellys closed for Positive case. Yeaterday Harrys and Gordos closed for positive case. This without the bulk of South Florida students returning. Restaurants are an important part of the gameday weekend experience. You have wonder how much this industry and its workers can take.

I work for one of these restaurants and we are all in line to get tested right now as I type this. We are planning to disinfect/deep clean, then we are getting re-tested next week to make sure there are no false negatives. All we want is Gameday and football season, that’s money season $$$

I am hoping to get more data on this issue. From what I hear in Central Florida, there has been an issue with the food preparation....the cooks. Its impossible to social distance in the kitchen and there’s a lot of yelling and sweating going on and wearing masks is a real hindrance. I know of one location in Orlando that shut for this reason and everyone is being tested. Again.

I'm in the industry, there is little to nothing you can do about that in the kitchen, bar is just as bad with everyone in close proximity. Its a mess

There does seem to be some correlation going on with restaurants and positive Covid tests. But, there is really good news. From WHO asymptomatic people "rarely" spread the disease. Recent research demonstrates between 42% and 82% of infected people are asymptomatic. Seems to be higher for the younger age groups. So, these "restaurants" are breeding grounds, but most of the infected are young and asymptomatic, unable to spread the disease to their elders.

The person who tested positive was front of house, no one from the kitchen from my job has tested positive as of yet.

Iron Daisy on Gaines as well although I think they were open for pickup only.
May as well resign ourselves to this thing being around for a while.
Happy hand washing.

The WHO (worthless) walked that back the next day. They can't seem to get their act straight. Too much Chinese money.

Probably open back up quickly after disinfecting.
Disinfecting is always a good idea where people eat. But all the 'experts' have been saying for more than a month that it's unlikely you can get Covid from surfaces. They can detect virus on surfaces, but there is no indication that there is enough virus on a surface to infect anyone enough for them to become sick.

Just wait until the students come back to campus.
Are you rubbing your hands together in gleeful anticipation as you post this?

Other things that will happen when students return:
1. Hangovers
2. Puking in nearest bushes
3. Walks of shame - or not ashamed
4. Hook ups
5. Sales of pregnancy tests
6. STD's presenting at FSU Health Center
7. 24 hour viruses
8. Colds
9. Flu
10. Corona virus
Not necessarily in that order, either.

Leon county is really struggling with this virus now. It was not that bad in March and April. Students will not social distance. Come on Goldy.

The WHO walked that back and was "misquoted" all I know is the numbers don't lie and in most cases, people get this virus and are usually asymptomatic or little to no symptoms it's the very elderly population that seems to have the most trouble with it most people walk around with it and don't know they have it.
