Train travel is incredible in both countries, especially the longer distances

It’s easy. Direct trains between the two is hard since COVID but you can connect through Barcelona. Download the SNCF or RENFE app to get schedules and tickets. Do first class as well. Not much higher cost and it’s well worth it.
Also there’s a site called Man in seat 61 with lots of info.

I took the midnight train to Georgia, hoping to find a simpler place and time.

I went to Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia a few years ago with a tour group.

I had a blast. I hear Paris amazing, too.

We took a bus, not a train.
