Anybody tuning in tonight? I realize it has been going down hill for awhile, but I can’t quite give up on it just yet. I at least want to see the Negan story play out.

I did. It needed to be about thirty minutes shorter with most of the “Coral” stuff cut out. It should have been ten minutes tops or weeping over Carl.

I agree the episode should have ran within its allotted 60-minute time slot. That being said, I did recognize that this was the first major character to be bitten in which the other characters had the time to say their good-byes. So, I let them have their moment.

Thank begin said....enough pussyfootin' around. Get to killing Negan.

Negan is the only interesting haracter left and why I still waste my time with the show. Awesome he wasn't even in one minute of the second half opener.

I thought it was pretty good; had to know that it was gonna take some time for Cooorl to die.

Morgan gutting the dude was great. He is a bad man.

GF watched it, I sorta watched.

They're overthinking this show. Kill zombies, show action, quit dragging things out.

I know it's the cool thing to hate the show now. And I'm still pissed about killing Carl off. But I thought it was done pretty great. I was pretty emotional about it. Carl getting his affairs in order, writing those notes. Making memories for Judith. But yes I'm a chick and I cry at everything.

But he is out of his damn mind to think in his utopia that Eugene and Negan would be welcomed with open arms.

It was drawn out a bit, but I liked him telling the story of how easy it was to kill when he was younger and paralleling it with the Kingdom kid.

Morgan is a one man killing machine. I don't think we will get zen Morgan back. Since he's stupidly doing the FTWD crossover, hopefully he'll just take off to be a recluse. I don't want to have to watch him die too.

I agree it was a touch long. I also think that most people have accepted that Coral is dead based on the irritating mid season cliff hanger last year. I personally didn't care about the saying goodbye, etc. A little went a long way in my book.

Just ready to see how they convince Negan to become a tomato farmer. :) Morgan is a badass but he has historically been JJUUSSTTT a bit unstable.

Just watched it - I’m a big critic of the show but I didn’t really have any complaints. The Negan Farmer was an interesting prophecy. Wonder if it will come to pass.

For those familiar with the comic, is the death of Carl original to the source material?

The other half asked me how long was it going to take for Carl to die. I didn't think it would be the entire episode. Was a little more interesting than last season to date, but they have a long way to go to get back to the hype of can't wait to watch.

Morgan, just let the man kill Carol and stop trying to talk him down Zeke. Little dude hit a good angle to get that throat poke.

The new Dr. will probably be what saves Maggie during child birth and Carl will be revered for bringing him in the fold.

Carl dying is not in line with the comics from my understanding.

The Carl parts were slow but he was a big character so I didn't mind. Pretty sad.

Overall a decent episode.

Since it doesn't involve a death, I'll post this without spoilers. Carl is not dead in the comics and plays a huge part. The show has deviated greatly with characters from the comics.

I didn't read the comics, but it does pose the question if they are effectively looking for the comics and show to be entirely independent at this juncture for their story arcs but people are not onboard with that change.

Or perhaps they have someone else planned to fill in the parts that Carl hit in the comics.

Thinking about it, Rick seems to be crying a lot in the last couple of seasons. It is starting to wear on me. Ready for Carol to take over.

Yeah Carl is very much alive in the comics still. His death will definitely change some future storylines. Especially the next group of bad guys, post Saviors.

Was anyone else wondering during this episode if Carl was going to turn zombie and bite Judith in front of Rick and Michonne?

I actually enjoyed this one pretty good. Maybe it's just because I'm a Dad and have been thinking about death of children a lot lately after Parkland, but that part was hard for me. I can see why it might have been grating for others. And the action scenes were well done.

We'll see where it goes. I haven't given up yet (Although I did give up on the comics after this storyline came to an end). So I plan to ride it out through the Negan storyline and then we'll see if I keep going or not.

The bar is set pretty low for me in this genre so it would have to be painfully bad before I give it up. Like Z-Nation bad (and its not THAT bad, just in comparison to Walking Dead it can be deemed). Too bad these shows didn't come out at different times.
