(1) Looking to get local channels/networks and all ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU. HD is preferred.

We have a Wingard G2 carryout.

Any thoughts/recommendations?

Do we need to subscribe with a local (Tally) Direct TV or Dish Network office in order to get local channels?

(2) We are looking to purchase a quality FSU tailgate tent with side panels.

Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance

I think with Dish you can call them and change your spot beam/local channels to the Tally zip code while you are in town for a game.

Walmart usually puts tents on sale about this time, got a great one last year for $50. Only problem was they sold out of FSU tents, ended up buying an Indiana tent. Check academy too.

For the tent I believe the "Logo" brand is the only one you can actually get parts for but they are 4 times the price to begin with. All the rest of them are pieces genuine simulated high quality garbage made in china.

for local channels you may as well use an HD antenna. You really only need satellite for ESPN or other cable channels.

Yes, the HD antenna is about $30. Does a great job

Just so I understand, are recommending the Logo brand tent in terms of quality?

Logo Chair is the main tent maker for college teams, but the quality is awful. The metal for frame is really bad, and they fall apart quickly. I know because I have gone through quite a few of them. I have one now that I only use for football games because they fall apart so easily. A cheap tent from just about anywhere will probably last you longer, but of course that won't have the FSU canopy.

I have heard good things from people I know who have bought FSU tents at Costco and Walmart( I don't know the brands though). Unfortunately, I can never find them as they don't sell them in West Palm Beach.

That's was my experience with a Logo tent, but it was about 3 years ago. I thought there was a chance that they had improved the product, but it doesn't sound like it.

Sorry to be confusing. Logo is the only one I know you can get parts for to fix. Another option is to buy a different brand but get two of them and take one apart for parts. They all suck. you have to treat them like they are made out of paper and they will break. If you ever have the chance to drive around the campus the day after a big game you will find dozens of broken ones laying around. What I did was take a broken one that was stranded, took the whole thing apart and saved all the good parts, and have been fixing the one I have with those parts. It's ridiculous that you have to turn into a picker in order to get some shade.

EZ up used to be the best but I saw one of their new ones and even that one sucked. The market for these commands that they build the cheapest turd possible.

I had one last only one season, and another last 3 seasons( but heavily taped up). The one I have now worked fine last year, but I barely used it. The only reason I bought it( which maybe I shouldn't have) was that it was on sale at Pickup Publix for $99 last year.

I have a Winegard and it only receives SD DirecTV signals which kind of sucks but it's better than hauling the full dish and tripod setup to games. I live in Tally so I get locals as I am still in my "home" area.
