Move along, nothing to see here since FU grads control the media in Florida. Now if this had happened at FSU just imagine the coverage both state and national(espin).

Saw the video.

Was that really racist though?

Maybe insensitive to their tradition, but who’s to say they wouldn’t have rushed any one off the stage for doing something other than grabbing their degree and walking.

Could be wrong, but it doesn’t clearly scream racist to me.

It may or may not be. I would need to see full video of white, hispanic and other nationalities doing similar dance moves/strutting taking approximately the same amount of time to see if they were treated the same way. If no other races did it or took a longer time than straight walking through it, then we may not know. And I guess would need to go more in depth with the administrator that did it. Did he know historically that this is only and typically done by black students? What instructions was he given if this has been a tradition for several years? And many other questions would need to be asked and found out if you truly wanted to find out if racist? Or we can just make an assumption based on our own beliefs and experiences as to whether it was or was not and stick with that?

The race of the administrator doing it should have nothing to do with it being racist. If he were not white but black, hispanic or other and performed the same actions solely against black students it would still be racist.

But man this could have went a whole lot worse if he grabbed someone and the student decided to take a swing at him.

Willie needs to use this in recruiting whether it's really fair or not.

not fair, as they will say they were enforcing a rule that applies to everyone, but it was only actually affecting the AA students..
So now they'll have to backtrack the whole thing and other groups will join in and their graduation will be 6 hours long..

Kind of looked staged. They didn't seem to upset about being pulled off the stage.

I was thinking the same thing.

1) just because the students were black and the staff was white, doesn't means its racist. It means a white guy was trying to rush the students along.
2) how does the guy NOT know this is a thing?
3) why would he think he could just lay hands on someone he doesn't know?
4) he is likely an employee in a dept, if they haven't named him yet, they aren't trying very hard.

They have said that other non-black students were able to take longer to cross the stage without being forced to move along.

Yet another black eye for uf.
