Four-star WR commit CJ Wiley was on campus for the first time since shocking everyone and committing to Florida State last month. I spoke with him very briefly today as he was on his way out and here is the gist of what we talked about.
- He once again reaffirmed that his recruitment is still open but he said that it would be difficult to flip him away from Florida State.
- The culture of Florida State is a big reason why. It was important to him and played a big part of his decision.
- He knew that Florida State was the place for him directly after he finished his official visit.
- He kept it close to the vest and because of this, everyone assumed he was going to Georgia, so it resulted in a 'shock the world moment'.
- He caught passes from both Tramell and Brady today and he said he enjoyed catching from both quarterbacks.
- Got some coaching from Dugans today and also enjoyed that.
Some personal observations of Wiley at camp today. There wasn't a tremendous amount of elite defensive back talent there today, mostly some developing 26 and 27' prospects. But with that said, the combination of his size and speed is impressive and how he uses his body as a bigger receiver is something that you have to see in person to fully appreciate.
